From June 6 - August 6, we are donating 100 percent of the proceeds from new memberships and renewal memberships toward helping the library obtain mobile wifi hotspots for the community.
To help address longstanding racial inequities and injustice, the Friends of the Library have provided an initial $5,000 to the Library to acquire hotspots for the library to help bridge the digital divide, which disproportionately affects African-Americans. We support the Kansas City Public Library's commitment to educate, to enlighten, and to uplift. We ask you, and our community, to join us.
With the mobile hotspots, families can stay in touch through social media and video conferencing services. Children can access library resources for education and entertainment while other family members can work from home, pay bills online, search for jobs and order groceries.
Join or renew today! Help us bring in more Friends so we can help break the digital divide and keep our entire community connected!
