The KC Streetcar Authority, Our Daily Nada, Young Friends of the Kansas City Public Library, and Read Poetry-Andrews McMeel Publishing are teaming up to host KC Poetry On The Move, a community-wide celebration of National Poetry Month in April 2019. 

A panel of judges is in the process of selecting winners from an open-submission poetry competition. Winning entries may have their poems printed and displayed in the KC Streetcars, at KC Streetcar stops, and other venues along the route during the month of April -- so keep your eyes peeled!

To celebrate this collaboration during National Poetry Month, the Young Friends will host a trio of events:

Poetry on the Move open mic and happy hour

Our Daily Nada


This is an open mic night for poets of all ages to read their own work or to bring in your favorite poem to share. Our host for the evening is Jen Harris, a professional public speaker, spoken word poet, activist, published author, founder and former host of Kansas City Poetry Slam. RSVP here.
